Join us for a collaborative Vacation Bible School experience with First UMC Alachua and First UMC High Springs. Explorers are guided by a Lighthouse Keeper and Beacon the Puffin on an exciting quest to find five mysterious Infinity Lanterns to help light their way. Using map coordinates from their Reference Book (the Bible), children discover clues to finding each lantern while learning how God's light shines in the lives of familiar biblical characters in Old and New Testament stories.

2019 vbs fun:
How old does my child need to be to attend?
All children need to be rising kindergarten (starting this fall) through completed 5th grade. We have volunteer opportunities from middle school and older students. Volunteers needing childcare for younger students will be available if needed.
What should my child wear?
Appropriate shorts with comfortable sturdy shoes are recommended every day so your children can freely run and play. Our crafts are awesome, fun, and potentially messy! Please make sure your children wear play clothes that can get dirty. They can also wear their VBS shirt each day. We strongly recommend that you apply sunscreen before coming to provide protection from the sun.
What will be provided for Lunch?
Students will receive lunch each day, if concerned about allergies please contact us with those concerns.
How do I check-in/check-out my child?
Elementary Children (Kindergarten – 5th grade) can be dropped off in the Sanctuary in their class assigned row. Please note all parents/person responsible for child will need to sign them in and out every day.
Can my teenager volunteer for VBS?
Yes!! We depend on our youth helpers to make VBS run smoothly each year. Students currently finishing 6th-12th grades can serve as teen volunteers/crew leaders. In fact, VBS needs the help of your teens! All youth helpers must attend training prior to VBS. Training for everyone will be held Sunday, July 25th.
Will you provide transportation for after-care?
We currently do not have transportation available for children staying for the after-care portion of the day. Transportation will be available from First UMC High Springs for children with drop off at 8:30am and pick-up by 1:30pm each day.
